Weymouth guesthouse accommodation

- Making, and paying for, bookings
When a booking is made we require a valid credit or debit card number to secure the room. If no card number is available we will require a deposit for 50% of the value of the booking for one night's stay or the cost of the first night for a booking of more than one night. Cheques, made payable to Elwell Guesthouse, should reach us at least one week before the date of the booking. We only accept bookings from adults, i.e. 18 or over. We do not generally accept children under 12 except at our discretion. Infants in a cot may stay at no charge.
We accept payment by most major credit and debit cards and in cash or by cheque (made payable to Elwell Guesthouse) provided it is covered by a cheque guarantee card for the full amount.
Please note that we do reserve the right to request full payment upon arrival or at any time during your stay.
- Group Bookings (diving, sailing, fishing etc.)
We will require a deposit equal to the full booking fee for the first night’s bookings from groups booking two or more rooms for more than one night. Because of the difficulty of re-letting rooms at short notice groups will be responsible for the payment of the full booking fee, less cost of breakfast, if less than two weeks notice of cancellation is received. We will take all steps necessary to re-let rooms and return deposits where necessary.
If you have to cancel your booking within 10 days of the due date, we will take reasonable steps to re-let the room(s). If we are unsuccessful we will, at the end of the booking period, take a payment of the booking fee less the cost of breakfast, not taken, as compensation. If we are successful in re-letting we will return any deposit. When a reservation is secured using a credit or debit card, it will be debited with the cancellation charge unless another arrangement is made. It is possible to take out insurance to cover any loss and this is recommended. Please note that a small charge might be made in the event of a cancellation or refund to cover the cost of postage and fees incurred. In the event of non-arrival i.e. no-show, payment will be taken. If, for any reason, we cannot provide the room(s) booked we will make every effort to find similar accommodation at another guesthouse if you wish and any deposit will be returned.
- Check-in and Departure Times
Check-in is from 4 pm to 7 pm unless otherwise arranged. On the day of departure, all rooms should be vacated by 10.30 am. Please ensure you leave your keys on departure.
We provide one set of keys for each room. If keys are lost or not returned on departure, we charge a replacement fee of £10 per set. If a reservation has been secured using a credit or debit card, that card will be debited with the replacement fee unless another payment method is offered and approved.
Smoking is not permitted within the guesthouse.
- Pets (see also 'Pet Rules)
We accept pets providing they bring their own bed. There is no charge except to cover any damage caused (see below). To avoid the possibility of pets causing damage
please note that pets must not be left alone in the room at any time
unless in a cage and agreed with us.
Please note: pets may not be brought into the breakfast room.
We do not accept bookings from people travelling into Weymouth on a ferry which arrives after 10 pm unless they have previously booked a room prior to catching the ferry out.
Amenities at the guesthouse are provided at the user's risk and no responsibility can be accepted for any injury, loss or damage either personal or to motor vehicles parked on the premises. Any damage or breakages are the responsibility of the person making the booking. We will require payment to cover replacement costs or repairs before departure.
Children under 16 must be under strict adult supervision at all times when on the premises or in the grounds.
If anyone has an allergy which is likely to be a problem please let us know. Please note : we have two dogs and a cat although guests should rarely see them.
Fire and safety notices must be read on arrival and complied with at all times. We reserve the right to enter the accommodation at any time if there is reason to believe that safety notices are being contravened. Please remember that while you are on the premises you have a duty of care towards other guests.
